Over 400 Black Women and Girls Are Missing in the City of Oakland.  Oakland-based organizations

[Hooked on Crochet from AllFreeCrochet.com Special Offers]  Sign the petition to ensure a brighter future for Black youth and women in Oakland! Check out this petition from our partners at Care2:  [Demand Action to Find Missing Black Women!](  Over 400 Black Women and Girls Are Missing in the City of Oakland.  Oakland-based organizations and activists are sounding the alarm on the terrifying rate of abduction of Black girls and women in the city. Of the 1,500 people that are missing in Oakland, nearly one third of them are Black women – a wildly disproportionate and alarming rate. This is a crisis that we can't ignore any longer, and the state of California must do something about it!  Tell California legislators to sign Senate Bill 673!  City Council member Treva Reid is leading the call for change, demanding that the city and state prioritize finding these missing community members now. This bill would establish an 'ebony alert' and help dedicate more energy and resources to finding Black girls and women that are missing across the state.  Black women have a right to safe and successful lives. But study after study shows that these women, who sit at the intersection of racism and misogyny, are more likely to experience a multitude of types of violence than other races of women – domestic abuse, homicide, police brutality, medical discrimination. The list goes on and on.  It's time we walk the walk and start actually implementing policies to protect our Black communities.  We must put pressure on California legislators to pass a bill that would help locate Black youth and Black women statewide! Sign the petition now if you agree!  [Sign the petition]( to help these missing black women and girls!  Sincerely,  Prime Publishing   This email was requested by: {EMAIL} Unsubscribe from this newsletter: [Click here](.
