Gov. Abbott says Texas will accept Mexican offer of Hurricane Harvey relief
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday [the state is accepting Mexico's offer to provide assistance in the wake of Hurricane Harvey](, including vehicles, boats and food.
Mexico, in a diplomatic note Tuesday, provided a long list of items to help Texas get back on its feet following devastating historic flooding.
Carlos Sada, Mexico's undersecretary for North American relations, said this week his country is prepared to offer relief that includes troops, convoys of food and medicine, portable showers and water.
"Texas and Mexico share more than half the border," Sada said. "There are families, marriages, businesses that bind our two sides. This is about being good neighbors."

FEMA has already provided $35M in aid to nearly 200,000 disaster victims
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has already [provided more than $35 million in assistance to nearly 200,000 individuals]( who’ve registered for disaster relief in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, federal officials said on Wednesday.
And those figures will grow.
Around half a million individuals — or more — are expected to register for that aid in the coming weeks, underscoring the monumental scope of a storm that produced catastrophic wind and rain and that continues to threaten the Texas coast with deadly flooding.
"This is an unprecedented event,"Â said Alex Amparo, a top FEMA official. "We are in this for the long haul to provide the assistance to every disaster survivor that we can."

Cowboys-Texans game canceled to give Houston players chance to go home after Harvey
[The Cowboys' preseason game against the Texans has been canceled](.
The decision came days after the game was moved from Hurricane Harvey-stricken Houston to Arlington's AT&T Stadium. Earlier Wednesday morning, reports said 40,000 tickets had been sold for the then-relocated game.
Anyone who purchased tickets to the game will have the option of getting a refund or donating their ticket money woard Harvey relief efforts.
The cancellation gives Texans players the opportunity to spend time with their family after the hurricane.

Fox News hires fiery conservative pundit Tomi Lahren
Tomi Lahren, the 25-year-old conservative pundit whose legal battle with Glenn Beck made headlines earlier this year, [has been hired by Fox News](.
In a Facebook post, Lahren said is "blessed and honored to join the Fox News team."
"This exciting new step will allow me to give voice to all the America-loving patriots who have had my back since day one," she wrote.
The network said Lahren will have a "signature role" on a digital product under development and be a commentator on the network's opinion programming. She was set to debut on Hannity at 9 p.m. Wednesday (CST).
