Abbott's 20 priority bills With time running short and fierce differences between the House and the Senate, Gov. Greg Abbott's goal of approving all 20 of the items on his special session agenda [seems less achievable with each passing day](. That could set up a big decision: whether to call the Legislature back for a second special session to finish the job. The answer will depend on which items the Legislature approves before Aug. 16, when time will run out on the 30-day special session. The airline says Flight 759 was heading to the city from Athens with 287 passengers and a dozen crew members Saturday when it briefly encountered severe turbulence shortly before landing. American says the fasten seat belt sign was on at the time. After the flight landed at 3:10 p.m., three passengers and seven crew members were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Fatal Accident Abilene detective killed in crash on way to Dallas for Crimes Against Children Conference An Abilene police officer [was killed in a crash Sunday evening]( as she drove to Dallas for the Crimes Against Children Conference. Detectives Elise Ybarra, Chris Milliorn and Robert Collins were en route to Dallas about 6:15 p.m. when they approached a slowdown because of a wreck on Interstate Highway 20 outside of Abilene. Ybarra drove an unmarked detective's vehicle into a line of slow-moving traffic and was struck shortly after by a Chevrolet truck. She died at the scene, Abilene police said. Mansfield: [A 23-year-old man was killed Saturday]( morning when a car hit him and fled, Mansfield police said. Oak Cliff: [A 38-year-old man died early Sunday]( when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole in west Oak Cliff, police said. Lake Highlands: A man was shot in the buttocks early Sunday when [party crashers showed up to his house]( in Lake Highlands and started a fight, police said. East Texas: Two teenagers on a Boy Scout outing in East Texas died Saturday afternoon [after their sailboat struck an overhead power line](, officials said. Abilene: An armed robbery suspect in Abilene was caught at the scene of the crime [after he fell asleep](, police said.
