(Ryan Michalesko/The Dallas Morning News)  Lancaster Kidnapping Man who led police to Lancaster girl's body faces new charge in connection to her kidnapping The man who led police to the bodies of 13-year-old Shavon Randle and 19-year-old Michael Titus at an Oak Cliff house has been [accused of participating in the Lancaster girl's kidnapping](. Desmond Jones, 21, told police that he was present when Shavon was kidnapped and when Titus was killed, according to an arrest warrant affidavit filed Friday. Shavon and Titus were both shot dead. Six people, including Jones, have been arrested in connection to the case, though none has been charged in the deaths. Oak Lawn murder: A Cathedral of Hope staff member was [suffocated with duct tape by a man he met on Craigslist]( who returned to the crime scene in a U-Haul, Dallas police say. The call: The mother of jailed "affluenza" teen Ethan Couch said that she's worried about her son [after receiving a "frantic" call from him]( in the middle of the night. The suspension: A teen employee at a Great American Cookies store near Houston was temporarily suspended [after paying for a police officer's order](. Meanwhile: The Texas Supreme Court on Friday sidelined a Texas justice of the peace who [admitted to using drugs and trading sexts]( with the bailiff in her court. Chief financial officer Elizabeth Reich told Kingston in a memo that he missed too many meetings in the 12 months ending June 19 [and needs to pay the city back $8,160 of his $60,000 salary](. But Kingston told Reich on Friday that he is disputing the city's calculations and doesn't plan to return any money to City Hall. Curry/Special Contributor) Real Estate North Texas rent hikes outpace national average despite building boom Dallas-Fort Worth apartment renters who've been pining for a slowdown in rent increases [are going to have to keep waiting](. Despite near-record building activity, apartment landlords continue to dial up monthly rents in the area. During the second quarter, average D-FW apartment rents hit a new high of $1,082 a month, according to the latest data from Richardson-based RealPage. In North Texas, rents are up more than 5 percent from mid-2016. By comparison, nationwide apartment costs rose an average 3.6 percent during the same period.
