Fort Hood soldier's father struggles to understand deadly disaster
Ricky DeLeon says that he is still seeking [answers and accountability for the 2016 death of his son](, Isaac.
Isaac Lee DeLeon was a 19-year-old Army private just one year out of high school when he died at Fort Hood on June 2, 2016.Â
Isaac was one of nine soldiers that drowned when a military transport truck overturned in a flooded low-water crossing. The incident ranks among the worst training accidents in the history of the Central Texas post.
"Our son Isaac is dead because of irresponsibility," Ricky DeLeon said. "It was a bad situation where they never should have been out there."

Top Mexican official promises funds to provide legal defense to immigrantsÂ
Luis Videgaray, Mexico's foreign relations minister, pledged Wednesday in Dallas that his government [will legally defend immigrants against Texas' tough new "sanctuary cities" law](.Â
Mexican immigrants are living in "unprecedented times" with spreading fear and anxiety, Videgaray said. That announcement followed a special meeting among Mexico's 11 Texas consuls on a defense strategy in the state.

New hotels popping up as D-FW cities battle for convention dollars
Frisco, Allen and McKinney, three of Dallas' rapidly growing neighbors to the north, have announced plans for new convention center hotels.
Each envisions hosting throngs of wallet-bearing out-of-towners.
But with 41 major convention hotels already in North Texas, and more on the way in Irving and Arlington, [is the field getting too crowded?](
