(Tom Fox/The Dallas Morning News) Former Madison High basketball player who killed teen now charged with sexual assault A former basketball player at Dallas' Madison High who killed 18-year-old Troy Causey in 2014 [has been charged with sexual assault](. The new case against Johnathan Tramaine Turner, 22, could jeopardize his probation for the manslaughter charge that he pleaded guilty to in Dallas County. Causey's mother hopes that the new charges will result in prison time for her son's killer. Causey's 2014 death prompted an investigation into [a Dallas ISD athletics scandal]( that resulted in the resignation or termination of 15 DISD employees. Zuzu Verk case: A second man has been indicted on charges [related to the death of Zuzu Verk](, whose remains were found in a shallow grave earlier this year in West Texas. (Irwin Thompson / The Dallas Morning News) Dallas mayor won't support pension rescue bill Mayor Mike Rawlings said Sunday that [he won't support legislation meant to save the failing Dallas Police and Fire Pension System](. Rawlings is scheduled to testify about his opposition to the bill in Austin on Monday during a House Pensions Committee hearing. The mayor said that a key provision binding Dallas to minimum payments into the pension system is unpalatable. "This is a poison pill that, as inserted, would damage the city of Dallas and its services for decades to come," Rawlings said in an interview. Texas foster teen killed after running away from CPS office A 15-year-old foster girl being housed in a Child Protective Services office [was struck by a vehicle and killed in Houston early Sunday](, more than 10 hours after she and another foster girl fled from CPS employees supervising them in a state office building. The episode marked the first time a child in state care has died during a stay at a CPS office because the agency couldn't find a foster care provider willing to take them.
