Seven DISD employees have been disciplined, but not named by the district. Commentary: It's just plain wrong that [Dallas ISD is the only mental-health option]( for southern Dallas kids. Her parents want lawmakers to see the dilemma they face: If they allow Kara to hit herself, they're negligent parents. [But the best method they have to get her to stop — marijuana vapor — makes them criminals](.  Reporter Naomi Martin and photographer Smiley Pool followed the family for two weeks to share their story.
