The end of an era: Dallas Cowboys to release Tony RomoÂ
After months of speculation, [Tony Romo's days as a Dallas Cowboy are at an end](, a source told SportsDay on Wednesday.Â
While no surprise, the parting is significant. Romo was the team's starting quarterback for nearly 10 years.Â
If the club releases the veteran quarterback effect Thursday, it would free up $5.1 million in cap space for the 2017 season. However, the parting will cost the franchise $19.6 million.

Trump backlash will help Texas Democrats in cities, but they still can't win statewideÂ
The conventional wisdom before last year's election was that Hillary Clinton would beat Donald Trump and Republicans would lose the Senate and possibly even the House.Â
The reality was that Trump became the GOP's golden goose, winning the White House and helping deliver total Republican control for the first time in a decade.Â
Now, [at the dawn of the midterm election season and less than two months into the new president's tumultuous administration](, the Trump effect is difficult to forecast.Â
But there are some clues.Â
Also, a Texas rancher says he's [ready to give up part of his land to make room for President Donald Trump's proposed border wall](.Â
And, the ["pathological liar" will dine Wednesday at the White House with "Lyin' Ted."](  But forgive President Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz if they dispense with those wicked labels they gave to each other in the presidential race. In a dinner pairing unimaginable just months ago, Cruz said Wednesday that he expects a "delightful evening."Â
