Eleven former Dallas Jesuit clergy on list of those 'credibly accused' of sexual abuse
Eleven men who had previously worked at a Dallas high school [were included on a list released Friday]( of clergy members who had been “credibly accused” of sexual abuse of a minor.
None of the 42 priests and religious brothers on the list -- published online by the central and southern province of the religious order of Jesuits -- currently serves in the public ministry, according to a statement released by the province. Many served in the 1960s, 1970s or 1980s. Of those who worked in Dallas, eight are now dead. And many of those on the list had already been accused publicly.
“These allegations involve heinous acts committed many years ago,” said Michael Earsing, the school’s president, in a written statement. “I personally know of no credible reports of sexual misconduct with a minor occurring here in more than 20 years.”
The list’s release comes as the Catholic Church worldwide continues to deal with its sex-abuse crisis.

How much of the record $80 million Beto O'Rourke raised to beat Ted Cruz is left for another run?
Rep. Beto O'Rourke ended up raising an astonishing $80 million in his failed bid to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, putting an exclamation point on the El Paso Democrat's record-setting Senate fundraising haul.
The final tally, released late Thursday, is sure to intensify speculation that O'Rourke could mount a campaign in 2020 against Republican President Donald Trump.
Much of the attention on O'Rourke has focused on a frenetic campaign style that helped him come within three points of toppling Cruz — the best a Democrat has done statewide in Texas in years — and a social-media-friendly charisma that captivated liberals all over the U.S.
[But there's no overlooking the El Pasoan's herculean ability to muster up campaign cash.](

Tickets were slated to go on sale at 10 a.m., and when many logged in prior to then, they were "in a line" of thousands.Ă‚
Those who made it to the front of the queue were then greeted with exorbitant prices, most from "verified ticket resellers." Some in the sections closest to the stage are up to $990-plus per seat.

Samantha Barber receives communion from her husband Terrence Barber during a worship service at Airport Freeway Church of Christ in Euless. Since she was first diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Barber’s goal has been to beat the disease. Finally...
One dad made the difference in the $520 million PGA deal coming to Frisco. Here’s his story
From Metro columnist Sharon Grigsby:
Frisco lawyer David Ovard wasn’t in front of the cameras Tuesday when city officials made the huge announcement that the PGA of America was relocating to this North Texas suburb. He was content to stand at the back of the room alongside his two teenage sons.
But this $520 million project wouldn’t have happened without Ovard. For more than five years, he pushed, pushed and pushed some more to make this deal a reality.
Undeterred by the many who thought his quest was far-fetched -- or too difficult to pull off -- Ovard persevered for the sake of his community, especially for its young people.
“I really felt like if I let this get away that I was letting everybody down,” he told me Wednesday. “I felt the need to stick with it.”
