Ted Cruz on Texans who opposed him: He won't budge, but his views won't surprise
WASHINGTON -- The night he eked out a second term, Sen. Ted Cruz promised the 49 percent of Texans who voted against him that he'll be their senator, too.
[On Thursday, Cruz put a sharper point on what he meant](:Ă‚ He'll listen respectfully to opponents. But they shouldn't expect him to abandon his views of even give ground.
"There are going to be Texans that disagree with you, whatever way you vote," he said. "The right way, I think, to approach politics is with an honest and candid conversation with the voters, laying out the principles that you believe so that voters know what to expect."

3 key matchups in tonight's key NFC matchup at AT&T Stadium
It's another homecoming of sorts for Drew Brees, the NFL's front-runner for MVP. The Austin native has faced the Cowboys eight times in his career, winning five of those matchups. In the last six games, Brees has thrown 13 touchdowns and no interceptions.
In his eight previous games against Dallas, Brees has thrown 20 touchdowns to only five interceptions while averaging 347.5 passing yards per game and posting a 107.7 passer rating.
["I can't say that it's no big deal," Brees said of playing the Cowboys](. "I'm going back to the home state. I remember waking up every Sunday, watching the Cowboys after church. That was a big deal growing up. That was obviously the heyday for them with [Troy] Aikman and the boys. I played a state championship game in old Texas Stadium, so there's a little something to it."

Tennessee developer buys landmark Fort Worth tower
Development Service Group Inc. has acquired the 24-story 714 Main building, formerly the Continental Life Insurance Building.
[The 97-year-old high-rise was purchased from XTO Energy Inc.]( and is the latest in a series of property sales by the firm.
"As one of the largest, historically registered buildings in downtown Fort Worth, 714's redevelopment upside is significant and has the potential to be a truly transformational project for our city," JLL's Ryan Matthews said in a statement.Ă‚

PBR and Lone Star beer will not disappear from store shelves after all
Hipsters in Texas and beyond, rejoice.
[Beer giants MillerCoors and Pabst have settled a dispute]( that threatened the existence of staple brands such as Pabst Blue Ribbon and Lone Star.
The companies announced Thursday they "amicably resolved all outstanding issues in the case," which centered around a contract brewing agreement set to expire in 2020.Â
Earlier this month, Pabst Brewing Co. sued MillerCoors, which contract brews several beers on Pabst's behalf.Ă‚
