ELECTION DAY 2018
Live coverage: Midterm elections results, news and analysis
We’ve been reporting all day on last-minute campaigning, voting glitches and exit polling trends.
Now, it's time for the results.
[We've got full coverage of all the races affecting North Texas](, but there are three marquee races that we’re following very closely.
The first is the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Ted Cruz and Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke -- the most expensive Senate race in the history of the country.
The second is the race between GOP governor Greg Abbott and Democrat Lupe Valdez, the former Dallas County Sheriff.
The third is the race between incumbent GOP Rep. Pete Sessions and challenger, Democratic civil rights lawyer Colin Allred.

2018 Elections
In duel for Dallas DA, Democrat counts on high turnout, while Republican points to her record
The Democratic candidate for Dallas County district attorney [b]([elieves that high voter turnout will help him oust the Republican incumbent]( in the biggest county-level race.
John Creuzot said he’s confident in the hours before the polls close that voters will opt to put the reform-minded former judge in office to replace Faith Johnson, who was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott.
But Johnson said her Republican party affiliation doesn’t matter as much as the work she's done in her nearly two years as district attorney. Johnson most recently won praise for successfully prosecuting a white police officer for the on-duty shooting of an unarmed black teenager.Â
Even Creuzot has praised Johnson for bringing stability to an office that weathered controversy during the end of Craig Watkins’ tenure and long absences by his successor, Susan Hawk. Hawk stepped down from the position in September 2016. Johnson took office in January 2017.Â
Problems at the polls:Â Voters [reported that some machines in Arlington weren't working]( on Election Day.
And:Â Voting was the 'last wish' for an 82-year-old Grand Prairie woman [who died days after casting her first ballot](.

We stumbled onto a greater truth after Cowboys loss to Titans, and it isn't good for Jason Garrett or Dak Prescott
Tim Cowlishaw sorts out the fallout from Monday night:
Just when we thought the only significant Cowboys trend was their ability to be perfect at home this season while losing everything on the road, we stumbled onto a greater truth in Monday's 28-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans.Â
The trend that matters most is this one. Since the magical season of 2016 — one that recedes from memory with each passing defeat — the Cowboys have played three half-seasons.  They went 5-3 to start 2017. They wrapped it up with a 4-4 record (thanks, at the finish line, by the Eagles laying down on their way to a Super Bowl). They just landed with a thud at the 2018 mid-season point, Titans dancing on their 50-yard-line star, with a 3-5 record.

Tiffany Derry and two other Dallas-area chefs share their favorite nostalgic recipesÂ
From contributor Rebecca White:
Why do I crave Bolognese when I've had a rough day? Because Mom would always make spaghetti and meat sauce after a hard day at work. And why does the aroma of roasting chicken feel like a giant holiday hug? Because Mom would roast chicken instead of turkey on Thanksgiving morning.
These are my nostalgic food memories that influence the way I cook today. It's what makes the kitchen powerful, emotional and personal.Â
We found three Dallas-area chefs to share a recipe from their past that impacts not only their professional kitchen [but also the way they cook at home for the ones they love.](
