Home sales are falling in Duncanville, Fairview and Allen
Home sales are down this year in two-thirds of Dallas-area neighborhoods.
Prices are still rising in most residential areas â albeit more slowly.
After years of sharp gains in North Texas home sales and soaring prices, 2018 is the year of the housing market shift. Higher interest rates and buyer fatigue are probably to blame for a slowdown in the Dallas area's frenetic home market.
Through the first nine months of 2018, the number of preowned home sales is down in more than two dozen of the Dallas-area neighborhoods The Dallas Morning News tracks each quarter.

Photo of the Day
One day, years in the future, Bell executives foresee the V-280 Valor tilt-rotor aircraft ferrying American troops into combat zones around the world, combining top speeds of more than 300 mph and the long range of a plane with the maneuverability and agility of a helicopter.
For now,[the demonstrator aircraft can be found in Arlington at Bellâs Flight Research Center]( off Interstate 20, where the company is continuing testing on a design that is one of two being considered by the Army for its future needs.

Greenville Avenue in Dallas suffers yet another restaurant closure
Greenville Avenue Mexican restaurant [Don Chingon has closed.]( As of Thursday afternoon, tables were being pushed into corners and the restaurant was being cleaned.
The patio, which was decorated with a piece of artwork that looked like a giant piñata, is now empty.
The phone has been disconnected and the operators have not responded to requests about the restaurant closure. Co-owner Shawn Rao told CultureMap that the building needed work and "ultimately we decided it was time to get out of that neighborhood."
Don Chingon was a popular happy hour spot, selling frozen cocktails named after celebrities like Sofia Vergara and Ricky Martin. The dinner menu included carne asada, short rib enchiladas, fajitas and more.
