Mike Pence will come to Dallas next week to campaign for Ted Cruz and Pete Sessions
[Vice President Mike Pence will campaign in Dallas next week for fellow Republicans Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Pete Sessions](. Both men are facing tough fights for re-election.
Pence will be the featured speaker Monday at a noon rally for Sessions, the chairman of the House Rules Committee who represents north and east Dallas County's 32nd Congressional District.
Later in the day,  Pence will campaign for Cruz, who is in a close contest against Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-El Paso, the White House said. Details of that appearance were not announced.

Man accused of beating Anger Room founder to death told police she slipped in shower, affidavit says
The man charged with killing Anger Room founder Donna Alexander told police a story that didn't match the broken window and blood they found in her Grand Prairie home, according to an affidavit.
Nathaniel Mitchell, 34, told police that they'd just taken a shower together around 2:30 or 3 a.m. Sept. 21 when she slipped and hit her head in the bathroom, the affidavit says. He said he carried her to the bed, where he tried to stop the bleeding from a cut on her head before dressing her and taking her to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
Three days later, [Alexander died from her injuries.](
Denton county: Authorities are investigating the death of [a 23-year-old man whose body was found in a Denton alley](. He had been sick after visiting Vietnam, police say.
Robo-cons: Oncor Electric Delivery is warning customers in the Dallas area about a scam using [robocalls to fish for credit card numbers by threatening to cut off electricity service.](

American Airlines adds new flights from DFW Airport to Mexico, the Caribbean and more
American Airlines is bulking up its service to [Mexico and Central America from DFW International Airport]( with new routes and additional daily flights to 10 international destinations starting next year.
The Fort Worth-based carrier will be adding new service to Durango, Mexico; Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, Honduras; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in June 2019, the airport announced Tuesday.
Those flights will be supplemented with additional frequencies to [six Mexican cities already served by American](: Guadalajara, Leon, Queretaro, Chihuahua, San Luis Potosi and Puerto Vallarta.

Indomitable real estate icon Virginia Cook wages valiant comeback from disastrous stroke

On July 9, 2015, Virginia Cook suffered a massive stroke that most feared might kill her or leave her incapacitated.
Even those who know this feisty, energetic Realtor whose name is on real estate signs all over town had serious doubts that she would make a real recovery.
[Apparently, Cook didnât get the memo](.
Itâs been a rough and arduous road to recovery, and thereâs still much left for her to regain. The stroke paralyzed her right side, and her speech is limited.
But after spending more than two tenacious years in rehab at Presbyterian Village North, Cook has moved back home, motors around in an SUV with a driver and shows up somewhere in the Virginia Cook six-office network every day.
