Dallas police officially identify officer who killed Botham Jean â but still haven't filed charges
Dallas police [identified the officer who killed 26-year-old Botham Jean in his own home late Thursday as Amber Guyger](, but had yet to charge her Saturday.
But Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said Saturday he supports Police Chief U. Renee Hall's handling of the shooting's aftermath and her decision to call in state investigators.
"It's important that the citizens know that I believe what Chief Hall has done has been exactly the right thing. This is a tough situation," Rawlings said at a news conference at Paul Quinn College. "For anyone that questions whether we're going to get to the truth of this, there should be no doubters. We will find out exactly what happened."

Miles apart but different worlds as Ted Cruz and Beto O'Rourke cross paths in Houston
Rep. Beto O'Rourke has been raking in cash and basking in rave reviews from celebrities. Long-suffering Texas Democrats are turning out in droves and looking to him as their best hope to end a 24-year drought in statewide elections.
It's all begun to rankle - or maybe rattle - Sen. Ted Cruz, whose shot at a second term has stalled, if recent polls can be believed.
The Houston Republican and the El Paso Democrat are a study in contrasts. About the only thing they had in common Saturday [as they stumped 10 miles apart]( was heavy perspiration, which stained O'Rourke's blue dress shirt at a packed north Houston honky-tonk and left Cruz mopping his face with a hand towel as he revved a far smaller crowd at Tin Roof BBQ in nearby Humble.

Norv Turner's DNA is still embedded in the Cowboys' offense more than 20 years after he left

But in some ways, [he's never left.](
Troy Aikman will be calling Sunday's Cowboys-Panthers game on Fox as Turner calls plays for Carolina. Aikman has said repeatedly that as great as Jimmy Johnson was as head coach, he doesn't know if the Cowboys would have gone on that Super Bowl run in the 1990s if Turner wasn't the offensive coordinator.
And who was behind Aikman on the depth chart in those days? Current Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett.
National predictions: Why most NFL experts [have the Cowboys losing to the Panthers]( in Week 1.
Rangers: Willie Calhoun has one offseason goal that has [nothing to do with baseball, but everything to do with his career.](

Finally...
Will Fuel City and its tacos come to Cedar Hill? Not if neighbors have their way
Plans for a new Fuel City in Cedar Hill have hit a speed bump.
Bolstered by a stream of uneasy neighbors, the city's planning and zoning commission voted against a Fuel City at U.S. Highway 67 and Joe Wilson Road, 4-3, after two hours of debate last month. Leaders of the company â known for its unique blend of gas sales, roaming livestock, car washes and tacos â plan to appeal the decision this month.
Fuel City started at a downtown Dallas location that became well-known for its tacos. In recent years, the company expanded with relative ease to Mesquite and Haltom City. Soon, a new Fuel City will open in Saginaw.
[But Cedar Hill was a tough sell, even before the planning and zoning commission meeting.](
