Dallas woman: I was forced out of Holy Yoga for reporting sexual harassment
Itâs supposed to be a spiritual and meditative journey involving body and mind. [But one Christian-based yoga retreat resulted in allegations of sexual harassment by a leader within the popular Holy Yoga organization](.
A federal lawsuit by Danette Galvis, a former Dallas-based Holy Yoga instructor, says she was forced out of the organization when she reported being harassed by Dianne Suozzo, of Holy Yogaâs Northeast region, during the Arizona retreat.
During the class, Suozzo gave Galvis an âadjustment hugâ from behind that lasted too long, the lawsuit says, and then she whispered into her ear: âYou are so beautiful,â and âI mean, if I wasnât married ...â

Central Market's new Dallas store opens with exclusive food, wine and a new apple
It's grocery store No. 10, but the staff preparing for [Wednesday's opening of Dallas' new Central Market is treating it like it's the very first one.](
New Central Markets get new items first: an apple from Washington state called Rave to rival Envy and a mushroom table with 18 varieties with names like Black Trumpet, Lion's Mane, Burgundy Autumn Truffles and Chicken of the Woods.
There's bound to be one of 500 cheeses to nibble with it. And wine to pair that Chris Bostad, director of procurement, merchandising and marketing for Central Market, said he's been hoarding for this store, a bottle or two from small batches that Kermit Lynch imported from France the past year.
More importantly for Central Market's Dallas customers, the store on the northeast corner of Northwest Highway and Midway Road will give two other locations some relief, [said Stephen Butt, president of H-E-B's Central Market division, which is based in Dallas, a mile west of the new store.](
What's next for H-E-B and Central Market in Dallas? [The San Antonio-based retailer's H-E-B banner stores will enter the Dallas market](, just not anytime soon.

Why Texas governor Greg Abbott is airing ads worth nearly $3 million
AUSTIN â Gov. Greg Abbott's re-election campaign on Tuesday launched a multi-platform, multi-million-dollar advertising barrage that has some big aims besides flattening Democratic opponent Lupe Valdez this fall, Abbott advisers and a political scientist say.
[One goal is to provide a "red sea wall" that protects down-ballot Texas Republicans against any "blue wave" that could be cresting]( elsewhere in the country, said Rice University professor Mark Jones.
"If not only Greg Abbott but the Republicans as well win big, it will demonstrate that he's the leader of the Texas Republican Party â and even Ted Cruz may be indebted to him," Jones said. "They'll owe their re-elections in November to him and not, for example, to [Lt. Gov.] Dan Patrick."

"Welcome to American Idol, Plano, Texas," said the announcer on Monday morning.
[And the crowd of aspiring contestants at McCall Plaza in downtown Plano cheered](. They were there to audition for ABC's second season of the rebooted reality TV competition show. Registration started at 7 a.m. on Labor Day and the auditions started at 9.
From those who just thought it was "time to get out here" like Victoria Stewart to those like Ashton Kuyle, who tried out 10 years ago when he was 16, singers lined up to give it a shot. It's not a long shot, either; American Idol included 13 North Texans last season, which was won by Maddie Poppe and judged by Luke Bryan, Katie Perry and Lionel Richie.

Finally ...
This millennial is helping a historic neighborhood out of a tax nightmare
From metro columnist Sharon Grigsby:
The core of the Hamilton Park property tax mess is this: [Many of the homes are distressingly reflective of having been built in the 1950s, with no remodeling â and often without badly needed repairs.]( Yet absent individual protests â and the photos and details that go along with them â the Dallas County Appraisal District had no way of knowing the inside story.
With pictures, compelling narratives and good comparison data in hand, commercial tax consultants Will and Toby Toler won significant reductions on every house they advocated for in Hamilton Park, a neighborhood that decades ago was a rare welcoming refuge for African-Americans seeking nice new houses in Dallas.
They secured homestead exemptions and sorted out confusion around property deeds and other legal documents.
âWeâve become totally focused on the tax plight of Hamilton Park owners because we know thereâs relief in sight for almost all of them,â he said. [âHopefully, that will make things right with as many residents as we can touch.â](
