SEXuAL ABUSE SCANDAL
Disgraced priest leaves church, Dallas with questions that may go unanswered
When disgraced priest Edmundo Paredes disappeared from Dallas six months ago, [h]([e left behind a mystery much deeper than where he is today.](
Paredes leaves questions about who he truly was, what he did to the people he was supposed to serve and what harm he caused not only to his alleged victims but to a Catholic diocese in Dallas already stained by a sexual abuse scandal stretching back more than two decades.
The fear now is that the questions will never be fully and publicly answered. Police are not investigating the sexual abuse allegations that surfaced earlier this year against the longtime pastor of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in north Oak Cliff. Texas activist, Parkland student raise thousands for billboard of Trump tweet calling Ted Cruz 'all talk, no action pol'
When President Donald J. Trump comes to Texas to stump for Ted Cruz, he may just be greeted by a very visible reminder of rebukes he threw the senator's way during the presidential race. But anti-Cruz activists haven't forgotten the verbal fisticuffs the two men threw in 2016 — and are determined voters here don't either.
That's why Houston-based community organizer Antonio Arellano is [raising money for a mobile billboard]( to feature one of Trump's own anti-Cruz tweets. He wanted to bring in $6,000 for the billboard but on Sunday, just one day after creating a GoFundMe account, Arellano had already raised nearly $10,000.
A mock up of the billboard features a Trump tweet from Feb. 28, 2016, when he wrote, "Why would the people of Texas support Ted Cruz when he has accomplished absolutely nothing for them. He is another all talk, no action pol!" David Hogg, a former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student turned anti-gun activist, and political operative Claude Taylor are supporting Arellano's efforts.
Previously: Trump announced that he'll come to Texas in October [to hold a "major rally" for Cruz]( in the biggest stadium in Texas.

He writes that the experience has given him a deeper appreciation for how difficult it is for parents — especially foster parents — to care for medically fragile children.
