Plano killer showed off weapons at bar just before massacre, police say
Shortly before Spencer Hight crashed his estranged wife's football party Sept. 10 and killed her and several of their friends, [he sat at a Plano bar down the street and showed employees a knife and a pistol](, according to search warrants released Tuesday.
His behavior alarmed the staff at Local Public House enough that an employee told police he escorted Hight to his car so that he could put away his weapons.
Two concerned employees followed Hight after he left the bar and drove a third of a mile to Meredith Hight's house where they saw him standing outside, according to search warrants.
One of the employees, a bartender, called 911 to report his behavior. But by the time police arrived, it was too late.

Finally...
By now it's likely you have either seen or walked out on mother!, Darren Aronofsky's great whatsit of a thriller. Quite a few critics are fans. Quite a few audiences are not.
It's not a movie for the "Let's go see something entertaining on Saturday night" crowd. It provokes all kinds of allegorical interpretations, and that kind of sounds like work, doesn't it? Who wants to work when they go to the movies? Critics, that's who. And anyone else happy to ride out that "What in the world is going on?" sensation that cinema experiments often foster (see also, The Tree of Life. Or scorn it in outright mockery, if that's your druthers). It seems demanding art can be...demanding.
Here's something that mother! lovers and haters can likely agree on:Â [Spirited arguments about movies are fun. Not Hot Takes, not Twitter rants, but actual debates](.
