Victory Park at 20: Dallas project finally develops, with new apartments, eateries
Twenty years after the project opened, Victory Park is finally coming into its own.Ă‚ While the project on the northwest corner of downtown still carries the weight of failures in the early days, new developments and reconstruction of the retail street have given Victory Park a reboot.
Built around the city's new sports arena, [Victory Park was one of the largest urban renewal projects in the country when it kicked off in 1998](.Ă‚ The more than half billion dollar high-rise development was planned to replace an aging power plant, rail yard and old grain elevators on 75 acres between Interstate 35E and Uptown.
Yet, the timing couldn't have been worse.Ă‚

- REAL ESTATE RESEARCH ADVISORY COMMITTEE has three new members appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott, including Troy Alley Jr. of DeSoto, executive vice president of Con-Real Support Group. The committee is responsible for Texas A&M University's Real Estate Center.

Texas Instruments considers Richardson for $3.2 billion facility, seeks tax breaks
Texas Instruments may pick Richardson for a new manufacturing facility that it says could amount to $3.2 billion of investment and create as many as 625 jobs.
[The Dallas-based chipmaker detailed its potential plans for the Richardson site in an application for a ten-year tax incentive agreement]( worth tens of millions of dollars with Plano ISD, the school district where the new facility would be based.
The application also said the company planned to ask for property tax breaks from the city of Richardson, Collin County and from the Collin College district, which could be worth up to $8.9 million more.
