Peace grows where investments are made in community well-being. See how your gift makes a difference

Peace grows where investments are made in community well-being. See how your gift makes a difference. More than 90% of them are from Somalia, where ongoing conflict, record drought, and lack of economic opportunity have made survival difficult. EISHA'S STORY* Eisha fled Somalia after her husband and other family members were killed in a violent attack. In Dadaab, she heard that she could talk to a counselor and get support for dealing with the trauma she had experienced. Taking that step made a huge difference. The act of sharing her story with another person helped her begin to heal. Over time, she returned to school, improved her relationships, learned skills to support her family, and started to rebuild her life in Dadaab. *Eisha is a pseudonym. HOW YOUR GIFT HELPS With support from kind people like you, AFSC is providing food, water, and other vital assistance to refugees, internally displaced people, and residents along a major migration corridor from Somalia to Kenya. In the coming year, we also hope to help hundreds more people like Eisha access trauma healing in the Dadaab refugee camps. But we need your help! [Your gift today funds this work and so much more.]( Dear Friend, Today is the International Day of Peace. And just as certain conditions set the stage for war, so too, can conditions be built for peace. It just takes a different kind of investment. Gifts from caring people like you make all the difference in communities around the world. As AFSC’s fiscal year draws to a close, I hope we can count on your support.
