With support from people like you, we’re helping children find moments of joy in a time of profound hardship. [AFSC logo]( Update: Emergency response in Gaza Dear Friend, Recently, AFSC staffer Firas Ramlawi wrote about AFSC’s work with displaced children in Gaza. Through games and recreational activities, our team and partners are trying to help kids cope with the stress and trauma they are experiencing. “Seeing the joy in children's eyes during our activities, watching the community come together to support one another, and observing the strength of families facing adversity are powerful reminders of the human spirit's capacity to overcome hardship,” he wrote. [Read the full article here.]( After more than six months of bombardment and displacement, the hardship faced by children and families is devastating. Most hospitals are closed. Most homes, buildings, and infrastructure have been destroyed. All of Gaza’s 2.3 million people urgently need food, water, medical supplies, fuel, and other essentials. With support from caring people like you, our team has provided life-saving aid to more than 540,000 displaced people, in close partnership with other relief groups. They have also engaged nearly 18,000 children in fun activities – including a recent soccer tournament. “Every aid delivery, every medical intervention, and every act of compassion brings hope to individuals and families struggling to survive,” says Firas. So does your advocacy. With the U.S. supplying so many of the weapons being used in Gaza, it is especially important to keep speaking out. [Please continue to join us in advocating for a cease-fire and diplomatic efforts to bring an end to the conflict and suffering.]( Your support is deeply appreciated and is making a difference.
