Support Aeon this June Dear Aeon reader, As I do each six months or so, today I am writing to ask for [your support](. I know it’s important for you to understand where your money will go. What are our aspirations for the upcoming year? We think of Aeon magazine as a world of diverse ideas. To live up to that ideal we are actively encouraging writers across the globe, and younger and emerging writers too, to pitch us with their ideas. It takes time and care to find, nurture and mentor new writers and filmmakers. We want to keep enriching our coverage of science, philosophy, history and psychology among other disciplines, continuing to ask the big questions you care about. Will you help us expand the Aeon vision in 2023? [PLEASE GIVE NOW]( Psyche is a magazine for those who are curious about what makes us tick: the human mind, emotions and behaviour. But Psyche is especially dedicated to those struggling with emotional and psychological difficulties. We want to deepen our coverage of mental health, bringing you advice and perspectives you can trust. In Psyche this upcoming year we plan to bring you more from the latest research in psychology, to experiment with shorter versions of our highly popular Guides, to expand our Film programme, and to diversify our shorter articles beyond the format of Ideas. Everything we do takes time and attention to produce. We work with trustworthy experts in their fields. Each article we publish goes through an intensive process, thoroughly edited for clarity and detail, fact-checked and beautifully illustrated by our dedicated picture editor. Our magazines are entirely free for everyone and we are a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to sharing knowledge with the world. Your support means everything to us and every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference to what we are able to create and give to the world. [PLEASE GIVE NOW]( My best wishes, Brigid Hains Editorial Director Illustration by Martin O’Neill You’ve received this email because you’re subscribed to the Aeon newsletter. The Flesch readability score uses the average length of your sentences (measured by the number of words) and the average number of syllables per word in an equation to calculate the reading ease. Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
