The markets may continue to benefit from optimism about the outlook for interest rates following the release of the minutes of the Federal Reserve?s latest monetary policy meeting on Wednesday. The minutes reinforced expectations of a rate cut next month, as a "vast majority" of participants said it would "likely be appropriate" to lower rates at the next meeting if inflation data continued to come in "about as expected." Trading activity may be somewhat subdued, however, as the Kansas City Fed?s Jackson Hole Economic Symposium gets underway later in the day.
