In today's newsletter: - The Anchorage Assembly [postponed voting on a lease agreement]( to open a former hotel as housing for the homeless, though the mayor's administration said it's ready to move forward in opening the facility. - On a stop in Anchorage, the popular PBS show ["Antiques Roadshow" drew about 3,000]( who queued up to have their art, pottery, collectibles and other items appraised. - Two of the longest-serving members of Mayor Dave Bronson’s administration [are leaving their roles at City Hall]( for positions at the Anchorage School District. Since mid-June, surfers off the Santa Cruz coastline have been dealing with an unusual problem: a young [sea otter has been attacking surfers]( — in at least one case stealing a board. The rare behavior prompted federal and state wildlife officials to decide they need to remove the renegade otter from the wild, before it hurts someone, or itself.
