Email Preheader Text

Hey Tribe.  I just got this new surfboard that I’m excited to show you.   I love surfing the beautiful waves here in Bali.  When I was a newbie at surfing, I kept falling off my board…  As anyone who has ever surfed for the first time would.  But as I kept learning how to surf…  I started to get to the point where I could ride the waves.  Which leads me directly to the topic of this email today.  In the last email, we talked about how being PRESENT and grateful with what you have…  Can help you to overcome the “I don’t have enough” belief.  This was the first out of three core destructive beliefs…  Which are plaguing the minds of the human race.  In this email, we’re diving into the second core destructive belief which is…  “Failures and mistakes are bad”  This is the belief that you should wait for the perfect moment before taking action on something.  We're afraid to get rejected…  Or to make a fool out of ourselves…  Or to fail at something we worked so hard to achieve.  But do you know what's even more sinister than failing?  It's NEVER TRYING at all.  And the sad reality is that too many people live lives being scared to make mistakes and fail…  Until they get to 90-100 years old and they wished they had done more with their lives.  When I was seven, I used to stay with my mom in the nursing home that she worked in.  And I would chat with all these 90-100 year old people.  I was that young annoying kid who kept asking, “Why? Why? Why?" after every sentence.  Often, they would say…  “Oh I wished I pursued this or that dream” “Oh you guys have it really good today” “We were in the war and I wish we had the things that you guys have today”  You know what they never said?  They never said…  “Oh, I regret making mistakes and failing".  I NEVER heard them complain about what they failed at.  But I always heard them talk about what they WANTED TO DO.  So I learned that it wasn’t even about making mistakes.  It’s about NOT wanting the regret that comes from inaction (or a lack of action)...  Because of the destructive belief that…  "Failures and mistakes are bad”.  So how do you counteract this belief?  The first thing is to understand that failure is just a stepping stone towards success.  Everytime you fail, you either learn what works and what doesn't work…  Or you avoid opportunities that are not aligned with you (God is just guiding you to bigger and better opportunities to match your gifts).  The second thing is to study people that have already achieved what you want to achieve.  When I started out speaking, there was an old documentary on Tony Robbins that talked about:  What his life was like What challenges he faced His rock bottom moments And how he overcame that  And when I saw that, I started to see the hidden truth about what makes someone a success story.  Oftentimes, we put these legends on a pedestal.  But we never see the years of defeats, rejections and even the long days where they barely get any sleep…  Yet they kept pushing on until they succeeded.  So you can study what they do and you can start to walk on their shoes.  And finally, the third thing is to stop waiting for the perfect time and start taking action on what you’ve been putting off…  Whether it’s starting a business…  Taking on a coaching client…  Or putting out content on social media about your coaching business.  If that’s hard to do for you, then here’s an exercise that will make it easier.  Imagine you’re in a pitch black room.  You light a candle and you start to see more of the room.  Then the fire gets big enough until you see the whole room.  Now imagine If I didn’t light the candle and I had said to myself…  “I’m not going to light the candle because I want to wait until I can see the whole room before I do it?”  How does that make any sense?  You light the candle FIRST and then you can see more of the room.  This is what it looks like when people wait for things to be perfect before they get started.  So all you need to do is just start.  Take that first imperfect step and the second step will be much easier.  So now I want to hear from you.  What’s one thing that you wanted to start, but you haven’t started it yet?  Maybe it’s starting a new skill, a business, or making videos for your social media.  Whatever it is, I’d love to read your answers at [info@addicted2success.com](  It’ll give me better clarity on how I can best serve you in these emails that I write.  Which is a win-win for everyone in the A2S Tribe who read these emails on the daily.  Can’t wait to see your answer :) .  . 1.
