“I’ve never been to school before”  These were the words I heard…  When I watched a video of two girls that were living in Laos.  See, I was speaking in an event and one of the speakers was none other than Adam Braun…  Founder of Pencils of Promise, a non-profit committed to building schools and increasing educational opportunities in third world countries.  During the event, he played a video where these two Laotian girls shared their story of how they never had the money to go to school.  So when Adam had built a school in Laos that they could attend…  The girls were filled with joy that they were finally going to be educated for the first time in their lives.  Even to these girls, a pencil was one of the best gifts they've ever gotten.  And I remember getting teary-eyed just watching it...  Not just because they came from a poor background…  But also because it was a huge wake up call for me to ask myself…  "Am I playing big enough?"  My business was doing well and I had money coming in.  But I knew that I could give so much more especially to third world countries.  And I’m not talking about money.  I’m talking about big projects that legends like Adam Braun are doing for third world communities.  I felt sad knowing that I had held myself back from giving more.  Why?  Because I told myself for the longest time…  “Joel, you need to get to the top before you can start building schools and helping out in a big way".  So every year I kept holding myself off from contributing in a big way.  But despite the growth of Addicted2Success…  I still never felt that I was "worthy enough" to help out in a big way.  Now, going back to the event...  I went up to Adam and I said to him…  “Man I’m really inspired to build a school with you”.  And he goes, “Joel, you’re a good dude. I can tell. However, a lot of people say to me, ‘yeah i’m going to build a school'. But they never go through with it".  At that moment, I had one of two choices I could make.  One. I could keep telling myself…  "Yeah he's right. I'm not big enough as a coach yet to go around building schools".  But the ache in my chest after seeing the video of those two Laotian girls…  And the fact that I've been holding myself back for so long…  Pushed me to instead use what he just said as an opportunity to tell him…  “Adam we’re going to build a school together”.  And I'm so glad that I made that decision…  Because two weeks later, we raised over $52,000 from the Addicted2Success community...  To build a school in Laos for children living in poverty XD  I was over the moon not only by seeing the school come into fruition…  But seeing the joyful smiles of the Laotian girls who would finally have the opportunity to get educated.  Which leads me to what scares me the most about our limiting beliefs.  If I had accepted my limiting belief that I wasn't ready to contribute in a big way…  None of this would have happened.  And it makes my heart sink to know that there are too many people in this world…  That are enslaved by their own limiting beliefs.  Because as Les Brown once said…  "The wealthiest place on the planet is the graveyard.  Because in the graveyard, we will find inventions that we were never exposed to, ideas, dreams that never became a reality, hopes and aspirations that were never acted upon".  It would break my heart if anyone here in the Addicted2Success Tribe…  Left this Earth with dreams and aspirations that they never shared…  Just because they never broke the chains of their limiting beliefs.  Because the craziest part about this is that…  It only takes a split second shift in your mind to break those chains.  You just need to know how to replace old outdated beliefs from your childhood with new beliefs…  That accelerates you towards your vision as a transformational coach or leader.  Which is why in the Addicted2Success Mastermind, we are currently in ‘Beliefs’ month…  Where every week for the month of February, we’re diving deep into our beliefs, both good and bad.  Because your beliefs will dictate your actions…  And your actions will dictate whether or not you achieve your visions in life.  For now, I challenge you to ask yourself…  “What goals do I want to achieve that I’m being held back from?”  This was the question that I asked myself.  [And I invite you to "reply" to this email with your answer to that same question.Â](  I'll be on my phone reading all of them.  With that said, it’s the second week of February so let’s keep crushing it.  Chat with you tomorrow. . .
