Yesterday when I was strolling here in Bali... I was looking at people who were tirelessly working at their exhausting 9-5s... As I was looking at them, I could remember myself a few years ago when I was chugging 5 cups of coffee every single day to stay awake. At that point in my life, I was just like most people sacrificing my health just to hit my company's quotas. But even after getting to work earlier in the morning and leaving later at night... I still wasn't the one making most of the money. It was the company I was working for. And that really got on my nerves for months. After hitting breaking point, I finally decided that I had enough. The moment I quit my job... I knew the real reason why many employees do not become entrepreneurs. On that day, I knew there were no more steady paychecks... No more health insurances or retirement plans... No more days off for being sick or paid vacations. On that day, my income went to ZERO. It was a nerve-wracking experience. People thought I was crazy, and my cousins even made fun of me too. Because of that, I was going through a tug-of-war in my mind. But the pain of commuting, the pain of severe palpitations... And most of all the PAIN of doing something I hate every day awakened a new mentality that grew inside me. The mentality to value FREEDOM over SECURITY. The freedom to create something that I could call MINE. That way of thinking that grew inside of me as the pain of being around toxic people and working on an underpaying job that I hated grew. And so I decided to take a big leap of faith to write my own story. The day that new mindset grew inside of me, I became an entrepreneur. As a former employee, and a self-made multi-millionaire... I realized the BIGGEST difference that draws the line of what makes an entrepreneur... And what makes an EMPLOYEE who waits to retire at 65 or so. Is that employees value security, and entrepreneurs value freedom. The more freedom you have, the less security you'll get. And the more security you have the less freedom you'll enjoy. It's like going left or right, you can't do both at the same time. YOU HAVE TO DECIDE. So today, I want you to think about this really hard. What is it that you truly value you in life? Do you value maximum security with a predictable life that hopefully doesn't fall off the rails? Or... Do you want maximum freedom to live life on your own terms? Well either way, you gotta choose. I've decided mine, and not once did I regret that I made it. That's all I got for you today. I gotta do some "entrepreneur" things in a bit. haha Enjoy your Thursday! . . . .
