Donald Trump and his allies have done everything they can to sabotage this campaign. We’re not intimidated. Let’s show them. [Adam Schiff for Senate]( Team, there’s a lot on my mind. Later today, Republicans will vote in the Iowa Caucus. While we won’t know the winner until results are called, polls are giving us a pretty good indication that Donald Trump, a man who has been impeached twice for high crimes and misdemeanors, looks to be cruising to victory. And not just in Iowa — he seems to be running away with the GOP nomination for president, despite facing four criminal indictments, two civil lawsuits, and 91 criminal counts across jurisdictions. The Republican Party has had numerous chances to denounce Trump’s criminal behavior and turn away from this charlatan. They didn’t — landing us where we are today. There’s no skirting around it: Donald Trump and the toxic brand of politics he represents are the new foundation of the Republican Party. That gives us a choice to make: Will we let a demagogue lie, cheat, and steal his way back into power — or will we stand up forcefully, more than ever before, to fight for the values we hold dear? I know my answer because it’s something I’ve done my entire career. As the lead impeachment manager for Donald Trump’s first trial, I worked to shine a light on the former president’s misconduct. I didn’t do it because I relished the idea of taking on the most powerful man in the world — but because our country demanded it. Because we need leaders who are willing to take on the tough fights in service to our country and the Constitution they swore an oath to. I’ve stood up to Trump and his allies' attacks, bullying, and partisan threats. And I’m ready to do so again in the halls of the U.S. Senate. Donald Trump and his allies have done everything they can to sabotage this campaign. We’re not intimidated. Let’s show them.
