After two impeachments, an insurrection, and four indictments (and counting) for the ex-president and leading Republican candidate Donald Trump, my takeaway is this: [Adam Schiff for Senate]( Folks, As we head into the final four-month sprint to California’s March 5 primary election, I wanted to write a quick note on the state of our country and this U.S. Senate race. After two impeachments, an insurrection, and four indictments (and counting) for the ex-president and leading Republican candidate Donald Trump, my takeaway is this: You can have the best-written Constitution in the world — and I believe we do. You can have the best-written laws meant to constrain the worst impulses of human nature — and maybe we do. But at the end of the day, none of it will be enough if people don’t give meaning to their oath of office. If that oath isn’t informed by ideas of right and wrong. If people are unwilling to accept the truth or even that there’s something called fact. None of it will be enough. None of it. In one of our two parties, there is an ethos that would make a public servant like Anthony Fauci into a villain and a villain like George Santos into a public servant. But here’s the good news. As Democrats, we have an opportunity next year to change the course of our country. It requires us to do what we have always done so well. To organize. To fight. To win. We can win this Senate race. We can take back the House of Representatives. And we can re-elect Joe Biden and create an economy that works for all of us. We have four months to build up our ground game for March 5. I know we can get it done — but I'll need your help to do it. [Will you join me in the fight for our democracy?
