Oakland. Half Moon Bay. And the lives lost. My prayers are with the communities, the victims, and the families whose lives have been torn asunder by yet more acts of wanton gun violence. But not just my thoughts and prayers, my actions too. Like all of you. California and Californians are hurting. We have experienced 3 mass shootings in 3 days. That’s merely a slice of the more than 300 people shot each day in this country. A country demanding action. I’m not going to grovel at the feet of Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell and beg them for a change of heart. They have made their political careers by standing unblinkingly by the NRA, and I don’t expect they will change now.
