Republicans were only able to elect a Speaker by relying on the likes of Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and George Santos. Yeah, those people. [Adam Schiff for Congress]( {NAME}, It’s Friday the 13th, and in the House of Representatives, a nightmare is playing out for our democracy. Republicans were only able to elect a Speaker by relying on the likes of Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and George Santos. Yeah, those people. Now, McCarthy is asking right-wing donors if he should remove me from the Intelligence Committee for my role in impeaching Donald Trump. It would be easy to attribute Kevin McCarthy’s repeated failures to be elected House Speaker to Trump’s waning influence in the party. But that would be a grave mistake. McCarthy is more dependent on Trump than ever, for corralling the deciding votes that got McCarthy the prize he always wanted — a hollowed-out version of the Speaker’s office. Without Trump, he would not have become Speaker. Without Trump, he will not remain Speaker. We need to put an end to this mess in 2024 and start preparing — right now. [Can you chip in now to help us build the resources to take the fight to the Republican Party in 2024? As the GOP devolves into competing MAGA factions, we cannot allow them to outraise us. Not now.
