When Speaker Pelosi was putting together our team to prosecute Donald J. Trump’s first impeachment in his Senate trial, Val Demings was an obvious choice. [Adam Schiff for Congress]( Team, When Speaker Pelosi was putting together our team to prosecute Donald J. Trump’s first impeachment in his Senate trial, Val Demings was an obvious choice. Before her election to Congress, Val served for 27 years in the Orlando Police Department and rose to become the first Black woman to lead the department as Chief of Police. Chief Demings... has a nice ring to it. Val has had the experience, the grit, and the sense of duty and fidelity to our Constitution to serve her community for all those years, and that’s exactly why she belongs in the United States Senate. That’s also why Val is the absolute last person Donald Trump wants to see in the Senate — and the Sunday before Election Day, Trump is holding a massive Get-Out-The-Vote MAGA rally with Republican Sen. Marco Rubio to keep Florida red. So I’m asking, friend: [Will you split a final, urgent contribution between Val’s campaign to defeat Marco Rubio and flip Florida blue, and our campaign to defend our House majority? Please pitch in today:]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation to Val Demings and Adam Schiff will go through immediately: [EXPRESS DONATE $10]( [EXPRESS DONATE $25]( [EXPRESS DONATE $50]( [EXPRESS DONATE $100]( [EXPRESS DONATE $250]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( Let me explain something to you about Marco Rubio: After Rubio suspended his failed 2016 presidential campaign, he promised that he would be a “private citizen” come the following January. It was only when a gunman committed the Pulse massacre in Val’s Orlando district, taking 49 innocent lives and injuring 53 more in an act of LGBTQ+ hatred, that Rubio said he was changing his mind and decided to run for reelection. So he could theoretically do something about gun violence. In the six years since, Marco Rubio hasn’t done anything to protect the country from gun violence. Not a thing. He looked Parkland dad Fred Guttenberg in the face on live national television, days after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooter killed 17 people, including Fred’s daughter Jaime, and promised him that he would support legislation to raise the age limit to buy an AR-15 from 18 to 21. But he didn’t. Of course, he didn’t. We’ve seen countless more massacres with AR-15 rifles in the years since. Including earlier this year in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 children and their 2 school teachers were massacred by a teenager with an AR-15. As Val put it in the only debate Rubio showed up to, “How long will you watch people being gunned down in first grade, fourth grade, high school, college, church, synagogue, a grocery store, a movie theater, a mall, and a nightclub... and do NOTHING?” Rubio didn’t have an answer, but I can tell you this: With Val Demings in the United States Senate, we will have an answer. We’ll ban assault weapons, codify Roe v. Wade, save lives, and protect our democracy. But Val needs our support. Today. [Split an urgent contribution between Val Demings’ campaign for Senate in Florida and our campaign to defend the House majority before Trump and Rubio’s rally. We cannot lose our Democratic majorities.]( Thanks for stepping up for Val today. We’re almost at the finish line. — Adam 150 E.
