{NAME} — We’re less than 48 hours away from our end-of-month deadline, and I’m hoping you can spare me a moment so I can tell you why this deadline is so important. After the clock strikes midnight on Tuesday, there are exactly 31 days left to hit our end-of-year goal, raise the funds for my re-election, and help other Democratic campaigns end the year strong so we are prepared for the turbulent year ahead. With the midterms on the horizon, we cannot take a single race for granted. We have a 5-seat margin in the House. And it’s a 50-50 Senate. The GOP only needs to flip one seat in the Senate to reclaim the majority. And the Cook Political Report shifted three key Senate races in Republicans’ favor. Our 5-seat majority in the House is the narrowest in decades, and Democrats lost seats in the House during the 2020 election despite President Biden’s win. But I believe it’s a fight we still can win. Why? Because of people like you. And because we don’t have a choice. We have to win. It’s crucial that we defend our majority and preserve our democracy. And maybe, just maybe, we can do even better and win back a few seats. Losing the House or Senate to the GOP would be a disaster. Without the Democratic majority you sent to Congress, the American Rescue Plan Act would have never passed. The Build Back Better Act would be dead on arrival. And we’d be stuck repeating Infrastructure Week, week after week, year after year, as Republicans fail to pass anything of substance. Democrats deliver. But here’s the bottom line: If we’re going to protect our democracy and keep Republicans from handing Donald Trump the 2024 election on a silver platter — we need to keep our majorities so Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy don’t get anywhere near a majority. {NAME}, will you pitch in right now to help us reach our end-of-month goal? This deadline plays an important part in starting out the year strong, prepared, and ready to defeat the GOP in 2022.
