[Adam Schiff for Senate]( Friend, I know there is a lot going on, and I’m sure you’re busy. But I hope I can take just a moment of your time to explain a few of the key things that have happened in the last couple extraordinary months at the presidential level and in my own race. It will be critically important for the outcome of this election on November 5. On July 1, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Donald Trump’s favor in Trump v. United States. The court’s conservative majority granted him broad presidential immunity for “official acts” — giving him legal cover for inciting the January 6 insurrection among many other alleged crimes, and giving him carte blanche to commit new crimes if he is elected again. On July 13, a 20-year-old gunman took his father’s AR-15 rifle in a horrifying attempt to carry out an assassination at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania that nearly killed the former president and cost an innocent bystander their life. On July 15, the Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the classified documents case brought by the Justice Department against Trump — Cannon’s latest in a series of actions designed to stall the investigation and help Trump legally. That afternoon, Trump selected JD Vance as his vice presidential running mate. That evening, FEC reports revealed Steve Garvey had outraised our campaign by $1.2 million in the last three months, and the Republican National Convention began in Milwaukee. The media was quick to ascribe a near-death experience change to Trump’s nature, desperate to describe him as more peaceful, more serene. Trump disagreed. “They all say, ‘I think he’s changed since two weeks ago. Something affected him.’ No, I haven’t changed. Maybe I’ve gotten worse.” On July 21, President Biden made history. In a selfless act of political bravery, he dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed his Vice President and running mate, Kamala Harris. Vice President Harris immediately went to work unifying and reenergizing our party. On August 6, she announced Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate. And todayFriend the Democratic National Convention begins in Chicago. And on November 5, we are going to win this election, defend the Senate, retake the House majority, and help Vice President Harris and Governor Walz defeat Donald Trump and JD Vance. [My team says we need to raise $25,000 before midnight to close our budget gap. We need to run a strong campaign to win and support more than half a dozen battleground House campaigns in California that could determine control of Congress and the Democratic majorities Vice President Harris will need to get things done. Will you help reach my fundraising goal before midnight with a $5 donation?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: [EXPRESS DONATE $5]( [EXPRESS DONATE $10]( [EXPRESS DONATE $25]( [EXPRESS DONATE $50]( [EXPRESS DONATE $100]( [ANOTHER AMOUNT]( We can see it in the polls, at campaign headquarters, and at presidential campaign rallies. We have the energy on our side, but MAGA Republicans are not going down without a fight. They will fight dirty. They will lie. They will attack us with everything they’ve got. They will continue to smear me. That is their strategy — to divide us. Because they know that no matter what dirty tricks they try, as Vice President Harris says: When we fight, we win. We have just 78 days to go until Election Day. [Pitch in any amount before midnight to fuel our fight.]( Thanks, Adam [Adam Schiff for Senate Banner; text Schiff to 724433]( [DONATE WEEKLY]( 135 E.
