After a federal judge ruled that DeJoy’s changes to the U.S. Postal Service before the 2020 election harmed mail delivery and impeded voting by mail at the height of the pandemic, DeJoy’s sabotage of the USPS may spill into another presidential election. [Adam Schiff for Senate]( Folks, I’m at my wit’s end after reading another report ringing the alarm on Trump mega-donor and Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s destructive actions concerning the U.S. Postal Service. We can’t stand for this. A federal judge ruled that DeJoy’s changes to the U.S. Postal Service before the 2020 election harmed mail delivery and impeded voting by mail at the height of the pandemic. Now, DeJoy’s actions undermining the USPS may spill into another presidential election. [Major mail delivery delays raises concerns about voting in the 2024 elections]( If you are wondering how Donald Trump’s handpicked Postmaster General… a former RNC finance chair who has donated millions to Republican candidates… whose family is a major investor in a company that directly competes with the USPS… who used his taxpayer-funded position to award that very company a $120 million USPS contract with taxpayer dollars… who was the subject of an FBI investigation of an alleged straw donor scheme to support GOP candidates… who removed mail ballot drop boxes and fought to decommission hundreds of mail sorting facilities during the 2020 election, backing down only after the American Postal Workers Union filed an official grievance… whose general counsel strong-armed states and threatened that if they did not pay first class postage on ballots that they may not arrive in time to vote by mail… AND whose 10-year austerity plan is on track to close 400 mail sorting facilities across the country… if you are wondering how this person still somehow remains at the helm of leadership of the Postal Service, I will explain: The Postmaster General is not subject to Senate confirmation like presidential Cabinet nominees. Instead, they are appointed by the USPS’ Board of Governors, who are subject to Senate approval. Right now, the Board of Governors has a pro-DeJoy majority, with multiple members nominated by Donald Trump, and two vacancies for which President Biden has yet to name his nominees — vacancies that have remained open for months. [We are running out of the precious little time we have remaining to replace the dangerously destructive presence of Louis DeJoy at USPS — before his mismanagement interferes with another presidential election. Please, join me in urging President Biden to send his Board of Governors nominations to the Senate so they can be confirmed with extreme haste. Add your name to my petition today:]( [ADD YOUR NAME]( If you are alarmed by the idea of a Trump-appointed former RNC money man, who has enriched himself at the taxpayers’ expense, been the subject of FBI investigations, and found culpable by a federal judge of harming voting in the 2020 election, administering another election in which the guy who gave him the job and incited a violent insurrection when he lost is running again as the challenger, you’re not alone. Louis DeJoy has got to go. Thanks for joining me in making this urgent request for President Biden to act. — Adam [Adam Schiff for Senate Banner; text Schiff to 724433]( [DONATE MONTHLY]( 135 E.
