a Zen Millionaire’s secret to happiness

They call him the ‘Zen Millionaire’. And this is his secret to happiness when it comes to the topic of money. I’m of course, talking about the one and only, Ken Honda… Globally recognized Japanese coach/speaker. He once set out on a quest to travel around Japan and interview over 12,000 millionaires. The most important question that he asked them was, "do you feel rich?" And despite actually being rich in society’s standard… The majority of them said no. Then he asked them, "how do you know when you’ll feel rich?" One man who received one million dollars before the interview said, "when I make $10 million dollars". So Ken found someone that made $10 million dollars and asked him, "when will you feel rich?" And the person said, "when I get a private jet". So Ken found someone who had a private jet and asked him, "when will you feel rich?" And well, I’ll let you take a guess on what is considered better than a private jet. Bottom-line: most of these super wealthy people did not feel rich at all. What’s going on here? Well, the minority of rich people who legitimately felt rich… Did not feel rich because of the number of zeros in their bank account. They did not feel rich because of their material possessions. They felt rich because they see money as air. Just like air is all around us, money is all around them. Ever had someone tell you that "money is the root of all evil"? Well, that’s wrong. The Apostle Paul actually said, "The LOVE OF MONEY is the root of all evil" What he really means by "love of money" is DESPERATION towards money. Society paints a picture that you’re "not enough" until you make more money. Just look at how many people are showing off material possessions and how great their life looks like, trying to one up each other.
