The Lead-Generating Book Funnel. What's going on {NAME}. Welcome back to Friday Fire where I share one actionable tip, tactic, or strategy to help you build your one-person online bizness. Yesterday I released my newest book called “No Sales Calls”. This is the 5th book I’ve written. And it will serve as a new channel to generate leads and clients at scale. Today I’m gonna share this simple Lead-Generating Book Funnel and how it works. Let’s dive in. Why A Book? Is there a more proven product than a book? Readers are leaders. And unlike an online course or any other digital product… Literally everyone has read a book at some point in their life. It also gives you instant authority when you can say you’re an “author”. It’s an incredible value when you give it away for free. Who can resist a free book around a topic they care about? Opt-in Page. This is where you send people to get the book. Here’s mine: As you can see, there’s one single focus. Getting someone to download the book. That’s it! No videos, other content, or navigation bar to click away to other links. Just a headline about the book and boxes to put your name + email. Thank You Page. This is where you thank them for downloading the book and include next steps. The goal of this page is to get them excited to read the book and remove any confusion about how to access it. Here’s mine: I like to include: - Text and a short video about what happens next - Download link - An offer to work with me on the contents of the book Again, keep it focused on the action you want them to take. Email Follow-Up. My bread and butter. The email strategy here is simple: - Thank them for downloading the book - Ask a question to start a conversation - Let my daily emails do the rest of the work Whenever someone is ready, they will reach out. I know that if someone is in my target market, joins my email list and doesn’t unsubscribe right away, they will buy something at some point. It may not be for a year. But that’s cool because I play the long game. Traffic. I’ll be using both organic and paid methods to promote this book. Organic strategy: - Post about it on social media and in my group - Talk about it if I’m on a podcast or being interviewed - Link to it in my email signature and social media bios Paid strategy: - Run Meta ads that link to the opt-in page - Pay for advertising space in other newsletters - Pay for other people to tell their audience about it Once someone opts-in, they go through the previous steps. === So that’s my Lead-Generating Book Funnel. The hardest part is writing the book. But with resources like: - ChatGPT for ideation, outlining, and content - Fiverr for design and formatting - Social media for promotion You can get a book published and generating leads within a week. The cold is not excessive, if you are wrapped in furs—a dress which I have already adopted, for there is a great difference between walking the deck and remaining seated motionless for hours, when no exercise prevents the blood from actually freezing in your veins. I have no ambition to lose my life on the post-road between St. Petersburgh and Archangel. I shall depart for the latter town in a fortnight or three weeks; and my intention is to hire a ship there, which can easily be done by paying the insurance for the owner, and to engage as many sailors as I think necessary among those who are accustomed to the whale-fishing.
