There's another lesson that smacked me upside the head a few times this year… My kids continue

There's another lesson that smacked me upside the head a few times this year… My kids continue to teach me that I'm not who I thought I was. What do I mean by that? I mean that I had an ego attachment of "Who Nathalie Lussier is" that looks a little something like my official biography: -Software startup founder -International keynote speaker -Digital strategist and course creator But these are just things I've done. They're flattering things to my ego (for sure!) but they're not "me". Each morning I get up before the sunrise and take care of my two little humans, clean, and make breakfast… (there's no sign of this "sophisticated business-woman" around) My kids have grounded me in ways I never could have imagined. I take every moment as it comes (and this is a constant practice!) because each day has new opportunities to re-discover myself in this new circumstance. It’s not always pleasant. There are tantrums, snuggle-fests, tough parenting conversations with my co-pilot Robin, slow walks in nature, and everything in between. It's messy. It's unbalanced. It can be frustrating… But it's real. My ego hates that I can't control everything anymore (not that I could before, but maybe there was an illusion that I could!). And by the by, I don't think having kids is the only way to be humbled and to re-discover what you're made of… Growing plants has taught me similar lessons (acceptance in the face of a dead plant comes to mind!)… Having a dog pee on your bed can do it too. Things happen, and we need to meet them as they come and do the best we can with what we have in our "circle of control". So my wish for you in 2022 is that you keep discovering yourself, and taking care of yourself too. Oh, and that your business takes off in big beautiful ways too! :) I hope you enjoyed this email experiment, and that you’ve got great holidays up ahead. Yours in non-ego-attachment, -Nathalie "each day is an experiment" Lussier P.S.
