You know what would be considered inappropriate? Going up on stage at a business conference, taking out your “shlong”, waving it around and saying… "Hey look at how big it is! Have you seen this thing?" Everyone in the room would be appalled. Well that’s exactly what happened at an event I attended a few years ago… Except… Instead of the speaker literally showing us his privates and boasting, he spent the entirety of his speech talking up his company and trying to undermine his competition. Showing a list of his big name clients… Trying to paint a picture that didn’t include the functionality his software doesn’t offer. Inadvertently drawing attention to features like gamification, and other ways to retain course participants and ongoing members. I was in the room shaking my head and letting my competitive side get inspired. Several people came up to me after his talk to tell me how great of a job he did at setting himself up as the only solution. Interestingly enough, by trying to place land mines for competing software solutions (that would be [AccessAlly](, in case you couldn’t guess by my reaction)… It ended up piquing people’s curiosity. We got more people to check out AccessAlly as their all-in-one course and membership solution (with gamification!) at this conference than at any other one before it. So sometimes it is a good idea to let your competition talk themselves into a corner… If there are existing courses and programs in your space, don’t despair… Let them do the “selling” and you can capture the interest where you outshine them. It’s classy, and easy to do if you’ve got your site fully gamified on AccessAlly: []() -Nathalie “keep your pants on” Lussier You're getting this email because you opted in for my email experiment.
