The suspect in this horrific incident has been identified as 55-year-old Marshall Dimick from Rosewood, Florida. As a result of his criminal actions against the victim, he was taken into police custody. The female victim was the one who reported the incident to the police, leading to his eventual arrest. The incident occurred following an argument between the the suspect and the victim. Dimick claimed that he had submerged the woman’s head in a tar-like substance during the argument. He also allegedly pointed a shotgun at her and held her at gunpoint. Amidst these violent actions, he also choked her until she was nearly unconscious. The victim suffered chemical burns on her face and arms from her exposure to the tar-like susbance. Typically, the substance is for treating clam and oyster bags. After experiencing these chemical burns, she was later taken to the hospital to be treated for her injures. The Levy County Sheriff’s Office classified the crime as a “domestic dispute." Law enforcement officials discovered that Dimick had removed several firearms from his residence before they were able to arrive at the scene. However, the guns were later found on a neighboring property and recovered by the police. As a convicted felon, Dimick faces charges of aggravated battery, using a firearm in an aggravated assault, and four counts of firearm possession. He is currently being held at the Levy County Detention Center on a bail that has been set at $550,000.
