I recently had a weekend where I spent waaaaaay too long making a bunch of little treats that I packaged and delivered to friends' and neighbors' doors. (I washed my hands SO many times and wore a mask while I worked too.) Of course, one item I had to include were my [Easy Oreo Truffles]( that I make every year. They are highly addictive so gifting is recommended. I also love to make my [Easy 3 Ingredient Fudge]( around this time of year. Chocolate 4 lyfe! This week I plan to bake my [Classic Shortbread Cookies]( as they are the perfect cookie for dipping in hot chocolate. And you know I'm using my holiday mugs any chance I get! I suspect that many of you, like me, are facing a holiday season that is going to look pretty different from past years. For me, I'm currently living alone (as my husband and I work through our separation) and it's got me rethinking the holidays in addition to navigating COVID. Here are a couple of things keeping me sane. Journaling! Every night I use this [5 year journal]( to jot down a few things from the day. Some days are hard, and other days I find joy. Either way I LOVE seeing the extra spaces below and dreaming about what I might be journaling in those spaces two or three or four years from now. I find some peace in knowing this current season isn't going to last forever. Yes, I am looking for the silver linings but I am also looking forward to the future. Writing! I am currently working on my second novel. I've mentioned it a little on our podcast, especially in [this episode](. And for a few months there I didn't feel in the headspace to work on it much. Instead of beating myself up about this, I just waited it out. I watched TV, I went to bed early, and I did yoga. Now I am feeling much more in the zone to write so I've been throwing myself into that project whenever I'm not working or baking holiday treats. Ha. I hope one day you will get to read it. I dream about that day. Cheers to building our future dreams during these weird times. Sending you lots of love. Take care of yourself. -Emma [A Beautiful Mess]( [ABM Pinterest]( [ABM Instagram]( [ABM Facebook]( [A Beautiful Mess]( 137 PARK CENTRAL SQUARE | SPRINGFIELD, MO 65806 US [UNSUBSCRIBE](

Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
