Hello, sweet friends, We are trying something slightly new and aim to send out a newsletter now and

[A Beautiful Mess]( [Podcast]( [Courses]( [Blog]( [Printshop]( Hello, sweet friends, We are trying something slightly new and aim to send out a newsletter now and again that is more personal (sometimes from me, other times from Elsie). Think of it as a typed out version of the podcast ... sort of. Did you learn anything while in quarantine? (And I realize some of you are still there, as it's still partially happening most places ... the line is very blurred where I live.) There is probably a lot to say, and some of it won't hit me for a while—I bet because I am a slower processor of things. But here are the two main things I learned: 1. I really love my husband. I know! So cheesy, right? He's not even going to read this, so what am I even doing? Idk. But I am thankful for the extra time we had together while he worked from home. I like having him around. We just celebrated our seven-year anniversary and I kind of can't believe it. Time flies/I'm old. 2. I would really like an office with a door. Ha! This feels in opposition to the first thing I learned, right? It is and it isn't. (Like most things.) I just feel very ready for a space where I can block out the world to get some things done. There are no immediate plans for this to happen in my life. This is just a ramble. If you're curious, here's what my [home office]( looks like. Some RANDOM updates: -We launched a [print shop]( I have four of the prints we are offering up in my home right now and I love them, one of them is at the top of this email, it's called Palm Canyon. We've been working on this for a while now and I am so excited it's finally real. -If you follow [my Instagram]( or listen to [our podcast]( then you might know that I've been writing a novel. I have LOVED the process but I am terrified of the next steps, which include letting friends and family members read it now that my first draft is complete. And I am planning to send it to our agent (Lindsay, who wrote [a great course on pitching books here]( soon. Maybe she'll pass? Maybe my first readers will be like, "Emma, this is so ... well, not great." Who knows? I am nervous. I am also starting on my second novel. Apparently, I am all in either way. -On the subject of books, I have been on a streak of great reads lately. Here are some great summer reads (yes, I know, it's summer ... but is it?) [Permanent Record]( by Mary H.K. Choi [Big Summer]( by Jennifer Weiner [All Adults Here]( by Emma Straub [Untamed]( by Glennon Doyle Hope you are well, friend. I hope you are finding and fighting for those little moments of everyday magic that life offers up here and there. Imagine I'm giving you a hug as I leave our coffee date now. Thanks for spending a little time with me. -Emma [A Beautiful Mess]( [ABM Pinterest]( [ABM Instagram]( [ABM Facebook]( [A Beautiful Mess]( 137 PARK CENTRAL SQUARE | SPRINGFIELD, MO 65806 US [UNSUBSCRIBE](

Text with a very high Flesch reading ease score (about 100) is straightforward and easy to read, with short sentences and no words of more than two syllables.
