[Photo of Abby Finkenauer]( {NAME} â just recently, Donald Trump held a rally in Iowa that a CNN opinion piece calls "the most alarming Trump rally yet." During his speech, Trump welcomed my opponent, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), to the stage, praising Sen. Grassley for always being there whenever he needed him. Then, he gave Sen. Grassley his "complete and total endorsement," which Sen. Grassley enthusiastically accepted. Moments like this show why our campaign to defeat Sen. Grassley is so important â and why I need to ask for your donation to stay on track with our fundraising for the month. But before I do, I hope you'll let me explain. You see, this rally has political commentators especially worried because top-ranking Republicans, like Sen. Grassley, are making their allegiances clear. Instead of choosing facts, reason and our democracy, they're choosing Donald Trump â the man who incited a deadly riot on our Capitol. But frankly, I'm not surprised at my opponent's actions. Sen. Grassley has a long history of advancing radical ideas at the expense of our country. Just look at his time as chair of the Judiciary Committee, when he blocked President Obama from appointing a Supreme Court justice and then rammed through the controversial confirmations of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. It's not shocking to me that he'll happily defend Trump's attempts to overturn the election and put our democracy at risk if it helps further his radical agenda. We have seen as clear as day that Sen. Grassley will stand by Trump no matter what â and that Trump is all in to protect Sen. Grassley. Together, they'll do everything they can to take back the Senate and reclaim the White House. Our race here in Iowa is critical to stopping them.
