If your answer is YES, act now: [View in browser]( [AARP Real Possibilities] ADVOCACY ALERT [bullhorn]( [The Senate will vote SOON on COVID relief Tell them: Prioritize Americans 50+]( [{NAME}, email now →]( Big news out of Congress, {NAME}: The House of Representatives passed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act, which includes a third round of stimulus checks. Next up: the Senate. Before they vote, AARP members are speaking out to ensure people age 50+ are prioritized in the bill, because we have faced some of the worst consequences of the pandemic. Our health and lives have been put on the line. Our financial security has been threatened. Our loved ones in nursing homes have faced devastating deaths and isolation. And now, the chaotic and confusing vaccine rollout is failing the most vulnerable among us. AARP will not rest until Congress improves vaccine distribution, provides direct payments to all Americans — including families caring for an adult dependent, and protects nursing home residents and staff. This COVID relief bill is moving quickly — so we must speak up now. [Tell the Senate to ensure the stimulus bill protects Americans 50+ by improving vaccine distribution, providing stimulus payments including to family caregivers, and protecting vulnerable nursing home residents.]( [ The pandemic hits Americans 50+ the hardest. Tell the Senate: make the COVID relief bill work for people 50 and over. Email your senators now >>]( AARP is pushing Congress on these top three priorities to ensure they’re addressed in the final stimulus bill: - Vaccine distribution must be improved for everyone, including those who can’t easily access the internet. - Stimulus checks must go to all families — including those with adult dependents — so caregivers get the same support as families with child dependents. - And nursing home residents must be given the support they need including vaccines, testing, and adequate staffing to stop the spread of COVID-19. AARP members are loud, powerful, and determined. When we speak out, Congress listens — because they know that AARP members vote and are not afraid to make their voices heard. That’s why if we rally right now, we can ensure our leaders fight for our priorities in this relief bill. [{NAME}, let your elected officials know that you’re paying attention.
