“Fantasy is healthy when practiced with moderation…” Dear Reader, ?Hey Addison,?

“Fantasy is healthy when practiced with moderation…” [Unsubscribe]( [Wiggin Sessions] July 29, 2022 Believing In The Easter Bunny “Fantasy is healthy when practiced with moderation. Too much fiction paralyzes responsibility and reason.” ― Abhijit Naskar [Addison Wiggin]Dear Reader, “Hey Addison,” writes Joe. If you recall, I have a Tennis Buddy Indicator (TBI). When my tennis buddies bring something up, I’m fairly confident other people are talking about it, too. Joe is one of those buddies. I haven’t been playing tennis recently because I wrenched my back on an overhead and been trying to let it heal. But Joe has been following along. “I've been enjoying your Wiggin Sessions!” Joe continues, “It’s amazing that [Peter Goodman]( calls himself a ‘free marketeer’. He obviously does not embrace President Reagan's ideology that ‘government is not the solution, it is the problem!’ “He also overlooks that when Peter Grace did his study for President Reagan, he discovered that if you raised taxes on the rich to something like 90%, you could only run the government for a matter of months. How long does he think we could run our Marxist — trillions of dollars — government. Ha ha ha! “Keep up the good work!” We freely admit we let the conversation get askew this week. A brouhaha was not at all what we had in mind on Monday. Still, we ended up discussing anarchy, marxism and free markets. Apart from covering the Fed rate hike and its effect on the markets yesterday, we haven’t talked much about money or investing at all. Sometimes that happens. Anarchism, marxism and free markets are all related to your money, but only in a philosophical sense. Nos obtinuit eam. We’ll wrap up this week with Peter’s defense of being a “free market guy”. [Check out this week’s Session by clicking below]( [Click here to learn more]( Peter S. Goodman is the global economics editor for the New York Times and author of Davos Man: How The Billionaires Devoured the World “What does it mean to be a free market guy?,” Peter asks, “Do you think there's a free market where, absent regulation, there's anything other than monopoly power? “If the alternative is top down Leninist style, China, let the government pick. I understand that to have a free market, we need infrastructure, we need education, we need a lot of things that the free market isn't going to provide. “You got to pay for it somehow. How are we going to pay for it? Is the Easter Bunny money going to give us the money to maintain the highways?” The Easter Bunny or Davos Man? How about neither. We do prefer a smaller government and a world where there aren’t as many people trying to tell us what to do or what to think. So it goes, [Addison Wiggin] Addison Wiggin Founder, The Wiggin Sessions P.S. “I enjoy and look forward to your daily emails,” writes Harrison, “it's one of a few emails that earns that distinction. For what that's worth, from this humble reader. “Regarding anarchy: Michael Malice, author of Dear Reader: The Unauthorized Autobiography of Kim Jong Il, The New Right, and, most recently, The Anarchist Handbook sums it up best... “Fundamentally, anarchy is the idea that no one speaks on your behalf. So, taking that idea to its logical conclusion, all forms of governments are illegitimate. But to many, the argument is not that simple. After stating your sound reasoning to someone who links anarchy to chaos, the questioning quickly begins: What about the roads? What about defense? What about schools? What about social services? “Like The Karate Kid's Mr. Miyagi or any wise sage, the anarchist will point to the inherent chaos when the government is involved in any service. Grift, fraud, an uneducated populace, and war all result from government ‘services’. A better solution: Business men and women in any free market, even for defense, could provide better, cheaper services than politicians and unaccountable bureaucrats will ever be able to offer. “Further, the wise anarchist, in another hat tip to Malice, will highlight... “Anarchy is about relationships. Think of your daily interactions. Do you need someone to lord over you and command that you act a certain way? Of course not. Your daily interactions are inherently anarchic. You abide by a moral code - respecting everyone's private property which extends to their bodies. “My quick 2 cents on anarchy. Keep up the great emails!” --------------------------------------------------------------- Crushing the retirement dreams of many… [Click here to learn more]( Is this the end of the road for America’s economy? More and more people are waking up to a world of pain... How do you feel, for example, when you fill your car with gas and the numbers on the pump climb higher and higher? Right now, Nomi Prins says we’re on the brink of a historic crisis – but not the kind of crisis most people expect. Understanding the details of this strange event could spell the difference between a long, relaxing (maybe even early) retirement... And years of broken dreams... frustration... and regret.
