You have to figure things out. Work around difficulties. Problem-solve on the fly. Will Bonner and Diego Samper are bringing Malbec from their ranch in Salta, Argentina to the Golden State. [We’ve been covering them all week for our Session](. The problem to solve: physically getting their product to your doorstep. Then placed in trucks and driven to wherever you are. It’s a journey. Thousands of miles of shipping before you put a glass of Bonner Private Wine to your lips. Bill Bonner, Will’s father, and I had been discussing shipping the wine down to Buenos Aires and putting them on boats in the large port there. But there were issues with trucking costs and the, ahem, people who run the ports. It was Will and Diego who realized it, taking the leap and making the whole enterprise a functional business. As far as we knew you couldn't find wine from Salta anywhere, especially not the type that we were growing. Working with Diego, we [figured out how to get the wine in a truck over the Andes mountains to a port in Chile]( and then up the Pacific coast to Los Angeles. And then eventually to the U.S. This insight is essential in developing and executing an entrepreneurial hunch into a real thing. To run a business, you need to know your niche. And know what the market needs from you. And while the money in international wines is good, “the reason why we do it is because it truly is in the winemaking process we’ve embraced here,” says Will… Vintners are really determined to express the terroir, to have the wine be really authentic to the exact place where it came from. And places at these elevations and these conditions, they only exist here. And that's why bringing wine that tastes just like that place there, being able to taste that for me living in South Florida. There's no mountain, no elevation for hundreds of miles. But I can have that. [I can experience this totally opposite place in the wine, and be able to experience it authentically](. In other words… Follow your bliss, [Addison Wiggin] Addison Wiggin
