Don't get me wrong, the hedge funds have a LOT of power in the market place. They have literally cut the legs out from under most investors in major markets but ... all they care about is getting that house at any cost ... What they don't know is that after they acquire the house at a ridiculous price OVER the opening bid they are creating what is called an excess proceed or a surplus fund or an overage (all the same thing). [Check it out here.]( You see, auctions start their opening bids at what is owed in property tax or to the lien holder. Here comes the competition with their bidding war just to get A deal and then here come the hedge funds to get ALL the deals. Once the property taxes are satisfied with the government or the lien to the mortgage company, the rest of that money is quietly put in a bank account where it sits until the former owner calls and asks for it. So next time you are at the auction and see how high the bid gets, you will know there is money left over that ANYONE can claim on behalf of the original owner and you can make handsome finder's fees. [Here are all the details.]( Stacy PS- while they walk out all smug, you can be smug too because you are still going to make money AND no rehab, no agents, no buyers, no contractors or money down!!!
