The Fed is preparing for some of the largest interest rate increases in recent history. Investors aren't spooked. Major indexes are still faring well with a general air of confidence surrounding stocks. Higher rates could help to combat inflation, protecting American companies and investors from an uncertain global economy. Incoming rate hikes are expected to be as high as 50 basis points, the highest since the year 2000. Treasury yields are soaring and indexes like the NASDAQ 100 and Dow Jones Industrial Average continue to perform well. The Fed expects some volatility in the market in the coming months. Financial institutions still see an upside, advising investors to avoid big calls and instead focus on wider portfolio growth and stability. Movement is strong throughout even some of the largest stocks, including in Boeing Co. as investors prepare for an increase in global travel and demand for aircraft and maintenance parts. Large consumer-focused stocks like Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) are seeing strong confidence with positive movement in this week's early sessions.
