If Democrats flip George Santos’s seat in the February 13th special election, the House Republican majority will shrink to a SINGLE seat. Control of the House could come down to a couple votes in a couple races. Below we’re going to highlight 4 pro-choice doctors running in 4 critical House races. One is widely considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats in the country, two are running to keep former Republican seats blue, and the last is running for an open seat we have to hold. [Every single dollar will be split directly between Dr. Kim Schrier (WA-8), Dr. Kelly Morrison (MN-3), Dr. Herb Conaway (NJ-3), and Dr. Maxine Dexter (OR-3). Can you donate as little as $4 so we can elect these 4 pro-choice healthcare champions?]( [DONATE »]( . Kim Schrier (WA-8) – Kim Schrier made history in 2018 when she flipped WA-8 blue and became the first pediatrician in history to serve in Congress (and became the only woman physician out of 535 members of Congress!) She made history in another way: After attending our candidate training and because of supporters like you she became the first Democrat in U.S. history to win Washington’s 8th Congressional District. Kim’s district is so competitive that many political experts predicted she would lose her seat in 2022. Because of supporters like you donating to emails like these, she didn’t. Your support will help defend one of our toughest seats and one of our toughest champions for reproductive rights in Congress when we need her there most. . Herb Conaway (NJ-3) – Herb has a profile that few candidates in the country do: He’s a physician, a military Veteran, a lawyer, and a public servant. In fact, when he ran locally in New Jersey he made history as the only member of the state legislature to hold a Medical Degree and Law Degree at the same time (and continued to practice medicine while serving!). He refuses to sit back as Republicans attack our democracy, our care, and our rights. Which is why he is running for the open seat held by Democrat Andy Kim (which was considered a safe Republican seat before Andy flipped it blue). If elected, Herb would become the first Black doctor with the power to vote on legislation in the history of our Congress. Republicans will be trying to take back this seat. Your support will make sure Herb and Democrats keep it blue. . Kelly Morrison (MN-3) – There isn’t a single pro-choice OB/GYN out of 535 members of Congress in the post-Roe era. Kelly is running to change that. In 2018 she ran for a reliably Republican seat in the Minnesota State Legislature and defied the odds when she won as a first-time candidate – by just 200 votes (less than 1% of the vote!). In the state legislature, she has led the fight to not only defend reproductive rights but to expand them in the post Roe-era. Now, she’s running for the open seat vacated by Democrat Dean Phillips in a district that used to be reliably Republican. Her ability to keep this seat blue and make history depends on us. . Maxine Dexter (OR-3) – Maxine never imagined she would run for office. Then, as an I.C.U. physician trying desperately to save lives on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic, she saw Republicans across the country attack vaccines, science, healthcare workers and institutions. Many of the patients who ended up in her I.C.U. wouldn’t have been there if Republicans didn’t politicize vaccines and safety precautions. Then she watched as Republicans celebrated overturning Roe v. Wade and decided enough was enough: So she decided to run. Maxine is running for an open must-win seat for Democrats in Oregon. Your support could help make Maxine only the third pro-choice woman doctor in all of Congress and one of the only legislators in the nation who worked on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. [$4 might not seem like it will make a difference. But when thousands of you step up to donate directly to these candidates, it makes a MASSIVE difference, especially in competitive races like these. Can we count on yout to make your first donation to help these four historic canddiates?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed and split between 314 Action Fund, Dr. Kim Schrier, Dr. Kelly Morrison, Dr. Herb Conaway, and Dr. Maxine Dexter. Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
