Wade!]( 314 Action is one of the few national organizations that puts considerable resources into recruiting, training, and supporting Democrats at the state and local level in every single state. And we plan on supporting 500+ Democrats with backgrounds in science and medicine at the state level next year (more than ever before)! [So we’re asking if you’ll give as little as $3 to help 3 majority making Democrats whose races could decide majority control of state legislatures in Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona!]( [DONATE TODAY »]( --------------------------------------------------------------- Taha (MI HD-25) – Our Democrats helped flip the Michigan State House blue last year, delivering a Democratic trifecta for the first time in nearly half a century! But! Because of a retirement in the State House, Democrats have LOST our majority. The Michigan special election which will be held early next year will decide which Party wins control of the chamber. Layla is a public health expert and community organizer who is running to retake the majority for Democrats. Layla began organizing with the Michigan Democratic Party and the Reproductive Freedom for All campaign to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution. The Stakes: If Layla wins, we retake the State House and can deliver amazing results for Michigan families. If we lose, Republicans will secure chamber control. --------------------------------------------------------------- Dr. Jasmine Clark (GA HD-108) – Jasmine has a PhD in microbiology and molecular genetics, is a professor at Emory University, was the Director of the historic March for Science in Atlanta, and flipped a safe Republican seat blue in 2018 by a margin of victory of just 300 votes. In the state legislature, Jasmine has been a fierce opponent of GOP abortion restrictions and attacks on voting rights. Last November Jasmine barely defended this seat by a margin of less than 1,000 votes and Republicans have made unseating her a top priority of theirs. The Stakes: Democrats have won Georgia statewide four times in the past three years, yet remain critically underrepresented at the state level. If Democrats can match the levels of GOP spending at the state level, we can win the State House in the next 1-2 election cycles. --------------------------------------------------------------- Burch (AZ SD-9) – Eva is an emergency room nurse and pro-choice healthcare expert who ran for office after Republicans in her state tried to enact a no-exception total abortion ban. She surprised election experts who projected Republicans would win this State Senate seat when she carried the district last November and became one of the only pro-choice women in healthcare to be elected to the state legislature. The Stakes: Democrats are just one seat shy of flipping control of the incredibly competitive Arizona State Senate. If Eva loses this race – considered to be the most competitive State Senate seat in the state – Democrats won’t have a pathway to flip the chamber. [Layla, Jasmine, and Eva are majority-making Democrats in Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona. Will you answer Obama’s call to action by donating so we can win majorities in these three battleground states?]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed. Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
