Your donation will go DIRECTLY to these candidates ahead of their FEC deadlines. 314 Action Fund is the only national organization working to train, recruit, support, and elect Democrats with STEM and medical backgrounds to office at all levels of government. Key investments made early in key races makes all the difference. Below, we’re going to highlight two of the most vulnerable House seats we need to keep blue and highlight two of our Democrats running against THE most vulnerable Republicans up next year. These history-making candidates are fastly approaching their most important FEC deadlines of the cycle to date and could really use a boost to stay ahead of Republicans in these majority-making races: And every dollar you donate will be split evenly between them. [It doesn’t sound like $4 or more could decide the outcome of 4 battleground races. But when thousands of you chip in, it makes all the difference in races that could be decided by less than 1% of the vote next year.]( [DONATE »]( --------------------------------------------------------------- . Kim Schrier (WA-8) – Kim Schrier made history in 2018 when she became the first pediatrician to serve in Congress and when she became the only woman physician out of 535 members of Congress. She made history another way: She became the first Democrat in U.S. history to win Washington’s 8th Congressional District. Her district is so competitive that many political experts predicted she would lose her seat last year. Because of supporters like you donating to emails like these, she didn’t. Your support will help defend one of our toughest seats and one of our toughest champions for reproductive rights in Congress when we need her there most. --------------------------------------------------------------- . Brian Williams (TX-32)- If Dr. Brian Williams is elected to Congress, he will make history as the first-ever trauma surgeon to serve there. He would also make history as the first Black doctor with the ability to vote on legislation in our country’s nearly 300-year history. Brian is a first-time candidate so he needs all the help he can get to defend a district that was considered a safe Republican seat in the 2010s. Brian has been a national leader on gun violence for years and decided to run after treating patients who were gunned down in a mass shooting. We desperately need leaders like Brian who will work every single day to address gun violence. --------------------------------------------------------------- Vargas (NE-2) – Tony Vargas made history when he became the first elected Hispanic representative in the history of the Nebraska State Legislature. Prior to that, he earned ‘Teacher of the Year’ as a science teacher and then school board member in Omaha. If elected, he’ll make history as the first Hispanic to represent Nebraska at the Federal level in history at a time when Hispanic Americans are sorely underrepresented in government. President Joe Biden carried this district by a wide margin in 2020 and Tony fell short only a few votes from flipping this red seat blue last year. With a jump start from supporters like you, we can flip this seat and secure its Electoral Votes for Joe Biden (since NE-2 allocates its votes in the Electoral College to who wins the district, not the state). --------------------------------------------------------------- Whitesides (CA-27) – George is running for a GOP-held House seat that made history in 2020 as one of the closest Congressional races in modern history when Republicans flipped CA-27 red by a margin of 333 votes (0.1% of the vote). If elected, George would make history as one of the first-ever aerospace experts to ever serve in Congress (prior to running, George served as the Chief of Staff of NASA under Barack Obama and longtime CEO of Virgin Galactic, an aerospace and spaceflight company in the district). In a race where a couple hundred votes could decide the outcome of the race and control of Congress, a couple hundred donations to emails like these absolutely moves the needle. [Donate directly to Dr. Kim Schrier, Dr. Brian WIlliams, Tony Vargas and George Whitesides ahead of their critical FEC deadlines. Control of Congress could once again come down to a couple hundred votes in a handful of races like these.]( If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will be immediately processed and split between 314 Action, Dr. Kim Schrier (WA-08), Dr. Brian Williams (TX-32), Tony Vargas (NE-02), and George Whitesides (CA-27). Since 2017, we’ve supported more than 500+ candidates and reached millions of swing voters on their behalf with our data-driven messaging campaigns. Our candidates led the charge to flip the House in 2018, the Senate in 2021, and a handful of state legislatures in 2022. Now, there are more scientists in office than at any point in U.S. history. No one is better equipped to craft policy to address pressing issues like gun violence, climate change, healthcare reform, or restoring reproductive rights than scientific professionals. Recent polling confirms that scientific and medical professionals have some of the highest approval ratings and levels of trust among voters – Meaning our candidates are better positioned to win tough races and can cut through the partisan divide! 100% of our work is powered by individual donations and our average donation is just $19. We plan on supporting more Democratic scientists and medical professionals in virtually every state this election cycle than at any point in our history. With you by our side, we’ll defend our Senate majority, retake the House, keep the White House blue, and elect a historic wave of Democrats to state legislatures and local office.
